About Gozo

Welcome to Gozo the second-largest island in the Maltese archipelago in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.

Legend has it that the island of Gozo was the domain of the nymph Calypso in Homer’s Odyssey (when it was known as Ogygia). The island itself has a population of around 31,000 people and is rich in historical locations and sites of natural beauty, such as the Ggantija Temples, the world’s oldest free-standing structures and the Azure window in Dwejra.

Gozo is a peaceful island and when compared to the main island Malta, greener and with more beautiful countryside, excellent for recreational hiking. It can offer holidaymakers the choice of a quiet and serene break or a jam-packed schedule of fun throughout the year, or a bit of both! The Maltese islands attract thousands of divers each year since Malta and Gozo offer some of the most amazing dive spots in the Mediterranean and the world.

Family-friendly activities are also available, ranging from a diving holiday, water sports, hiking to poetry nights. Gozo enjoys a pleasant climate most of the year and thus water sports are very common.
