A recent survey by Yahoo Finance and Castle Cover insurance have found that Malta may be the best place for the British to retire.
The study took factors such as rainfall, crime rates, healthcare and how much homes cost to buy and run. With all of these factors Malta and Gozo came top, ahead of previous favourites like Spain and Portugal.
Such news may have something to do with the reported rise in property enquiries in recent months. Several agents say this increase may be as much as 12%.
